Cook Bank Building, Rhyolite, NV – A Different Lens

Here’s one for my “A Different Lens” portfolio on my site.

Cook Bank Building, Rhyolite, NV. Shot, either before or during, my Death Valley Workshop a few years ago. Here’s more about the ghost town of Rhyolite, NV.

Processed with Adobe Lightroom 5, and then with Nik Efex HDR Efex Pro 2, though only a single image, not a combination of images.

Let me know what you think!

Sad Day for Us

It’s a very sad day for us here at Mastering Nature Photography and Jeffrey Aiello Photography. We had to put our dog Dave, an 11-year-old standard poodle, down on Friday.

Dave was amazing, elegant, intelligent, and comported himself with grace. His love of us and caring for us will be missed forever and he’ll be forever in our hearts.

Dave, we will always love and miss you.

Along the Fence – Playing with Nik Efex!

I just downloaded and installed the Nik Software collection. Here’s my first attempt using this software… I used Nik Color Efex Pro.

Indian Pantbrush and Bluebonnets along a fence near Industry, Texas.

Let me know what you think… Mostly tweaked it for fun and to use the software.

The Skinny…

Body: Nikon D3X, shutter: 1/5 sec, aperture: f/22, ISO: 50
Lens: Nikon 28-70mm VR f/2.8 at: 32mm
Tripod: Gitzo GT3531  RSS BH-55 ballhead

Workflow -> Lightroom 5 for import and most editing, putzed around with Nik software noted above.

The Cliffs of Moher

I shot this photograph of the Cliffs of Moher during my trip to Ireland back in early 2009, and only now got around to editing the photograph. I was lucky enough to capture some clouds that played well off the sea. In addition to editing with Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5, I also did some post processing with Nik Efex Silver Efex Pro.

Here’s my equipment used and workflow…

Camera Body: Nikon D700 @ 1/4 sec at f/16
Camera Lens: Nikon 17-35mm f/2.8 @ 17mm

Edited using both Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 and Nik Efex Silver Efex Pro.

Chile and the Boys!

I was lucky enough to capture a shot of my lovely girlfriend, Chile, enjoying her attempt at shooting  our “boys” Max and Dave, miniature and standard poodles, in a sea yellow on a beautiful sunny spring day!

We got some good shots of the dogs and Chile and I had a blast. Photographed March 29, just outside of Chappel Hill, Texas.

I used my Nikon D3X with my Nikon 28-70mm f/2.8 lens.
